The Kuala Lumpur Academy of Polo and Charlie Wood are delighted to invite you to a New Zealand South Island Polo Tour, from 3rd to 9th April 2023, in Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand.
The New Zealand South Island Polo Tour will consist of five days of daily stick and ball and practice chukkas or polo games played over four chukkas.
Charlie Wood, who was a visiting coach at Kuala Lumpur Academy of Polo in 2022, will be organizing the polo at his family’s Waireka farm, in Rangiora, Christchurch.
This tour also includes a Jet Boating outing, and an optional sea-fishing trip.
Itinerary
- Monday 3rd April Arrival in Christchurch, Familiarization and Horse Trials
- Tuesday 4th April Stick & Ball and Practice Chukkas
- Wednesday 5th April Stick & Ball and Practice Chukkas
- Thursday 6th April Stick & Ball and Practice Chukkas
- Friday 7th April Jet Boating
- Saturday 8th April Stick & Ball and 1st Day of Novice Cup
- Sunday 9th April Stick & Ball and 2nd Day of Novice Cup
As this is a very special tour, there are only six (6) playing places available on the New Zealand South Island Polo Tour this April 2023. Players must already hold a polo handicap in a recognised country. This tour is suitable for novice and intermediate players of -2 to 1 handicaps.
Partners and non-playing participants may also sign up for a Riding & Social package, which includes the Jet Boat ride, stick and ball and picnics.
