PBITG: Cody’s Wish

The world’s best thoroughbreds compete in the Breeders’ Cup, but in the history of this race series, there has never been a heart-warming and miraculous story as Cody’s Wish and Cody Dorman.

This is the story of a racehorse and a young boy who has been in a wheelchair all his life. Cody Dorman was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome (WHS), a rare genetic disorder that affects many parts of the body, resulting in delayed growth and development, intellectual disability, low muscle tone and seizures.

A special horse provided a perfect Hollywood moment in Keeneland, USA, at the Breeders’ Cup Meeting on 5 November. Godolphin’s winner in the Dirt Mile, Cody’s Wish, was a tear-jerker that captured the hearts of those watching in person and at home.
