Argentine Open Polo Tour

Kuala Lumpur Academy of Polo is organising a tour to Argentina from Thursday 1^st to Sunday 11^th December 2022, timed to catch the final of the Argentine Polo Open.

This very special polo tour includes six days of playing polo on the wonderful Tifton polo fields, in the greatest polo country of the world.

It will be played on suitable ponies, preselected by Agustin Andrada, with chukka fees covered, and with special tickets to the biggest day in polo, the Final of the Argentine Open.

It is a 12-day tour which begins in Buenos Aires and the final of the Argentine Open on Friday 2^nd December, at Palermo, the cathedral of polo.

The tour then moves to Pilar in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, where we play polo organized by Agustin Andrada, and played at estancias around Pilar, including at the Santa Agueda club that belongs to Gines Bargallo.

Full Tour

Players who purchase the Full Tour will have 6 chukkas on each of the six (6) polo play days.  We aim to play three days x 6 chukkas, followed by a day’s break (you can still stick and ball), and finish with another three days x 6 chukkas.  That is 36 chukkas of polo in 7 days!

Half Tour

If players wish, it is possible to accept two players on a Half Tour basis, where they share a playing slot, to play 3 chukkas each polo play day.  In this way, two ladies might combine to take two Half Tours, and Lady A plays chukkas 1-3 and Lady B plays chukka 4-6 each play day.  We will only accept Half Tours if they are already paired up.

As part of the tour, we will organize two asados, and visits to mallet and boot makers, and saddlery & equipment shops, and to other polo games to watch.

Costs are as follows:

• Full Tour – USD$6,200.00
• Half Tour – USD$3,500.00
• Social Tour (Argentine Open Tickets & Social Events) – USD$350

The tour includes ponies for polo and stick and ball, chukka fees, scheduled asados, and tickets to the finals of the Argentine Open.

It does not include accommodation, car rental, meals or flights.   Players should budget around US$150 per night at the Hilton Pilar or Sheraton Pilar.  There are other hotels available like Ibis Pilar and Howard Johnson, which are more affordable.

Bookings, Confirmations and Conditions

• Bookings are on a confirmed basis only.
• Confirmations are based on a 50% deposit, payable by 15^th September 2022.
• The balance 50% payment is due by 1^st November 2022.
• Cancellations by 1^st November would have half the deposit refunded.
